About Claude Fauchere

Among the most celebrated of French artists, Claude Fauchère is considered a living, national artistic treasure by experts and the public alike. Along with other leading exponents of France’s famous School of Paris such as Picasso, Matisse, Chagall and Dufy, Fauchère bequeaths to art lovers around the world his unique view of romance and the beauty of daily life in his native land.
 
Born in Paris in 1936, Fauchère has the distinction of graduating from both the Collège des arts appliqués and the Ecole supérieure nationale des maîtres d’arts. Fauchère has also won a number of distinguished awards in France, including the Gold and Silver Medals of French artists, the Medal of the General Counsel of SeineSaint-Denis and the Medal of the City of Paris.
 
Until recently, it was the very result of his recognition, fame and tremendous success within France that little of his work reached outside its borders. Demand within his own country was so strong that the artist’s creative output could not keep pace. Asked to comment about this unusual phenomenon, one expert responded, “Claude Fauchère is a national treasure the French prefer to keep to themselves.”
 
Today, art critics, dealers and experts on every continent are unanimous. Claude Fauchère is destined and is quickly becoming one of the world’s most important contemporary artists. Every day brings more international fame and recognition. Each of his exhibitions has been a resounding success, and according to Les revenu français, magazine éconornique, “the value of his work continues to increase at a substantial pace.”
 
As a result of this recent surge in international fame, Claude Fauchère’s works are now in great demand around the world. His art has been exhibited in some of the world’s greatest galleries, and can be found in private collections and museums on every continent. This includes important collections in France, the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Australia, Israel, Switzerland, Belgium and throughout Latin America.
 
Along with the many exhibitions in his native France, including those at Galerie Maig Davaud and Galerie Mars in Paris and the Galerie Saint-Hubert in Lyons, he has also been honored at Coulombes, Charenton-et-Pont, Vanves, Ballancourt, Montluçon, Alfortville, Les Plessis-Bouchard, Gomez-Ie-Chatel and Ruel-Malmaison. In addition, a number of his works have been acquired by the Republic of France along with Puteaux, Hauts-deSeine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Cotes d’ Armor.
